The forward won the Walter Cup with the Montreal Victoire last season, her only season in Montreal. She’s previously played with Boston and Ottawa in the PWHL. Darkangelo started her career with the Connecticut Whale of the NWHL before moving on to the Buffalo Beauts. She then jumped to the CWHL with Kunlun Red Star and the Toronto Furies. She continued on in Toronto in the NWHL with the Toronto Six, sticking with them until the formation of the PWHL.
Darkangelo was one of the names linked to Detroit from the beginning due to her having been raised in Brighton. She was cheered loudly at the Takeover Tour game in Detroit in March. But sooner or later, Detroit GM Manon Rheaume is going to have to sign some blueliners and goalies. This is currently a very unbalanced roster and, especially with the team expected to be giving up their first-round draft pick, it’s starting to get concerning.
