Huber is Detroit’s final signing of Phase Four of the PWHL’s expansion player dispersal process. The team now has seven forwards and three defenders entering the PWHL Entry Draft on Wednesday.
Huber scored four goals and two assists for six points in thirty games last season for the Fleet, her first PWHL campaign. One of those assists was on the opening goal of the January 3 Takeover Tour game in Detroit.
I’m getting really curious about Detroit GM Manon Rheaume’s plans for the crease this season, with the team not having signed a goalie as any of its first ten players. It’s possible that they’re eying a netminder in the second round of the draft (with their first-rounder reportedly heading to Las Vegas) but with the draft order seemingly still unknown, that would be quite the gamble.
