The deal is the fourth of Detroit’s five contract slots during Phase Two of the PWHL’s expansion player dispersal.

Curl-Salemme was previously under contract with the Minnesota Frost. She scored 29 points in 30 games with the Frost last season.

Like the previously-signed Cayla Barnes and Hannah Bilka, Curl-Salemme was a member of gold medal-winning Team USA roster at the 2026 Winter Olympics, scoring one goal and adding four assists for five points in seven games.

Detroit has one signing left before the end of Phase Two on Monday.

This is the first of Detroit general manager Manon Rheaume’s signings that I’m not happy with. BCS has a reputation as playing dirty and her off-ice attitude seems to match. The Takeover Tour games have been so joyful and Detroit just brought in darkness on Day One. It’s certainly a disappointment.
