Detroit’s PWHL expansion team signed their first Michigander on Thursday, inking Taylor Girard to a two-year contract.

The forward from Macomb is Detroit’s seventh player. Each expansion team will have eight players on their respective rosters by the end of Phase Three of the league’s player dispersal process, which ends on Friday afternoon.
Girard scored eight points in 17 games with the New York Sirens last season.
