The Detroit Red Wings announced on Tuesday that forward Pavel Datsyuk is expected to miss the next seven to ten days with what the team described as a “lower body injury.”
Datsyuk reportedly suffered the injury late in Monday’s shootout win at Calgary. He participated in the shootout, scoring on Detroit’s first shot.
The Russian currently leads the team in scoring, with 87 points (28 goals, 59 assists).
The Red Wings have clinched the Central Division for the fifth-straight year and were expected to rest some of their key players down the stretch.
