Pregame: Bruins @ Red Wings – 10/9

The Detroit Red Wings open their 2014-15 campaign tonight at home, hosting the Boston Bruins.

Detroit will be without the services of Pavel Datsyuk, who missed most of the preseason and is expected to be out awhile longer with a shoulder injury.

Boston, meanwhile, will be without David Krejci due to injury.

Daniel Cleary and Stephen Weiss will be the healthy scratches up front for the Red Wings while Brian Lasoff is out on defense. This means Andrej Nestrasil will make his NHL debut, becoming the 890th all-time player for the Red Wings’ franchise.
