Fedorov Reveals Marriage, Divorce to Kournikova

Detroit Red Wings star forward Sergei Fedorov admitted in the latest edition of The Hockey News that he did indeed marry Russian tennis star Anna Kournikova, but that the two are now divorced.

Kournikova has been involved with Fedorov on and off since she was fifteen and was also engaged to the New York Rangers’ Pavel Bure, then of the Florida Panthers.

The Sun of London, a tabloid from the capital of the United Kingdom, reported in July of 2001 that the couple had wed in a provate ceremony in Moscow. It was never confirmed that the wedding had taken place.

In an interview in which he also discussed hockey-related topics, Fedorov stated, “We were married, albeit brief, and are now divorced.”
