Pregame: Panthers @ Red Wings – 12/2

312

A power outage in downtown Detroit cancelled the morning skates today but the Red Wings are all set to host the Florida Panthers tonight.

The Red Wings are riding a four-game winning streak but will be missing forward Justin Abdelkader, who left Sunday’s win over the Vancouver Canucks with a shoulder injury. The official team stance is that Abdelkader is day-to-day but former Red Wing Aaron Ward reports that he’ll miss two weeks.

Joakim Andersson will replace Abdelkader in the lineup, leaving Daniel Cleary and Brian Lashoff as the healthy scratches.

Jimmy Howard starts in goal.

Stupid stat of the day: Since the Panthers adopted their current jersey set, every other game between Detroit and Florida has gone to a shootout.

Game time is 7:30 PM on FSD+.
