  • Hasek gets his first start of his latest comeback tonight. I assume Nabokov will go for the Sharks.

Brad Stuart (former Shark) gets into his first game as a Wing and will be paired with the returning Niklas Kronwall. They’ll be up against Joe Thornton’s line

By my count, the Wings are 4-3 on Leap Day and have won their last four. Wings statistician Greg Innis says it’s 5-2 but if the Wings won against the Rangers then that means I’ve got two games wrong that season and I just don’t believe it. So yeah, I say I’m more right than the Wings’ official stat-keeper.

  • Hahah x]. I am so excited! :D

It was all I could think about during my exams. I hope it’s good.

    Nabooookkkkkoooovvvvv!!!

edit;; I thought the game started at 8 Dx. Anyone see who they interviewed on the pregame?

  • What is it? All the empty seats at JLA?

No! Of course not! :D One thing I noticed was how great they played when Kirk Maltby was injured. :D I believe they had that big winning streak when he was gone, right? :D

That last shift did a good effort.

    Mathieu_Datsyuk132351 March 1, 2008 1:02 AM
  • Oh, is he (Maltby) back? I had hoped he stayed in Edmonton.

    skyguy52 March 1, 2008 1:05 AM
  • I see Larry Aurie’s #6 is still safe. Don’t see it yet hanging from the rafters either. It’s in LIMBO.

    Don’t we all? ):

That rendition of ‘Happy Birthday’ they play is really creepy. They should play that so happy it’s creepy version that was on Datsyuk13.com XD That still gives me the willies.

Also, you may think this girly of me to say, but I like Brad Stuart’s hair :D

    C’mon, second period!

    Mathieu_Datsyuk132351 March 1, 2008 1:12 AM
  • Haha. I haven’t really noticed Brad’s hair. Guess he’s not my type. :D

    Let’s hope not!

Blah, as much as I love SJ, I’m not too thrilled with them right now.

  • Huge goal to pull back within one. Power play still clicking.

    Clark Rasmussen March 1, 2008 1:33 AM
  • Зеттербeрг!

    (Does this support Russian characters?)

    Woo, Zetterberg :D

Wow, I’ve been mispelling his name for a longgggg time XD

Now if he’s sporting a Mohawk that might get my attention…. hehehe

  • What is it? All the empty seats at JLA?

Actually, tonight is sold out. At least when I looked for tickets.

That might be, but noticed there are a lot of empty seats and had to comment.

Seriously, I know its not game attendance that’s hanging over the WINGS.

But on the same token, I don’t like to blame it all on injuries either.

Something just isn’t adding up in my mind.

    skyguy52 March 1, 2008 1:42 AM
  • That was a stellar effort! Too bad he didn’t score ):

edit;; They just said it was sold out. :D

Why can’t we assemble the Z-D-H line? Bring in the special forces!

    Mathieu_Datsyuk132351 March 1, 2008 2:19 AM
  • What a f*cking joke. Puck’s out of play and the Sharks get a goal.

I think Babcock should throw a puck on the ice and say he thought pucks that were out of play were legal now.

    Hahaha, that’d be awesome :D

Woah, I think Mr. Ehrhoff just dropped an f-bomb.

    YAY! :D POWERPLAY CONVERSION!

I love Mickey Redmond’s “It should be a tie game!”

    Mathieu_Datsyuk132351 March 1, 2008 2:41 AM
  • Gawd! MEECH ROBBED AGAIN! …… the last 3-4 games he’s been robbed half dozen times!

    skyguy52 March 1, 2008 2:43 AM
  • Hard to celebrate that goal so p*ssed off. Sharks fans would call it an even ’cause the second penalty was weak.

    Clark Rasmussen March 1, 2008 2:45 AM
  • Whoever Franzen passed it to deserves to be shot >:|

That goal was annoying. I am happy they are ranting about it.

    Mathieu_Datsyuk132351 March 1, 2008 2:53 AM
  • Franzen should have shot, not passed.

    Clark Rasmussen March 1, 2008 3:00 AM
  • I honestly can’t believe that actually counted as a goal. I was so mad I thought I was going throw something across the room. The fact that the refs didnt see it isnt the cause of my anger. I’m mad because they can’t review it. What kind of bullsh*t rule is that? After watching the replay, every single person there must have seen it hit the net, including the refs. Mickey Redmond told it straight when he said “There needs to be some kind of fail safe in place to stop these ridiculous calls.”

However, on the bright side, Brad Stuart really impressed me tonight. He had a few hard hits and didnt play sloppy when controlling the puck. I can picture him, Downey, McCarty, and Drake out on the ice simultaneously if the Wing’s need to pick up the tempo.

Also, this bad call might be what Detroit needed in order to light a fire underneath them. Its going to cause more of a will to win. Hopefully this is the case.

  • No coverage of it at all in the media today. Kind of surprised. TSN would be all over it if it was a Canadian team. I keep seeing it referred to as a “disputed” goal. It wasn’t disputed, the Wings weren’t allowed to dispute it, it was just wrong.

    Clark Rasmussen March 1, 2008 5:34 AM
  • Sorry, missed pregame, working.

Uhoh. First shot on Dom goes in.

    Clark Rasmussen March 1, 2008 12:40 PM
  • The San Jose goal stopped be from getting the chance to say that Detroit’s little-known streak ended short of ridiculous proportions. Stuart failing to score on his first shift as a Wing means that he won’t follow Cory Cross and Kyle Calder as the third-straight Detroit deadline day acquisition to score on his first shift after joining the team. He could still score on his first shot like they did.

    Clark Rasmussen March 1, 2008 12:45 PM
  • Almost half way thru the 1st period …… and I’m not impressed.

Red Wings have the worst record in the NHL over the past 12-13 games.

Granted, they haven’t been healthy. But, other teams are suffering too.

    Get it together boys.

What is it? All the empty seats at JLA?
