The Grand Rapids Griffins move in to Vancouver tonight. Jimmy Howard gets the start in goal and the blueline will feature Derek Meech, Kyle Quincey, Jonathan Ericsson and Garrett Stafford. Yes, that means that Chris Chelios is out.
Who in the world is Garrett Stafford? I haven’t even heard of him! D: This is already looking bad. I still have yet to watch last night’s third period.
Garrett Stafford = rock star, New Age.
I like it … not that I’m happy about the Red Wings injuries, but I think it is good for fans to see what the prospects look like in action.
For these young players, it must be E-X-C-I-T-I-N-G.
Cheli needs a rest anyway.
I hope he recovers fully and soon, though
I would have liked to see Kindl. The Wings think he can be a top-two defenseman. But if he’s not ready now, no sense in calling him up.
Hartigan is in for Drake tonight. The actual Griffins (as opposed to the ones playing as Red Wings) beat the Canucks’ farm team today.
With Ken Daniels by himself at the end of pregame, catmandu said “He is by himself ’cause Murphy’s playing?”
Drake is in, Hartigan must have just taken the warm-up.
Meech hurt. Murphy just left the booth to go put his gear on.
Edit: Meech returns. Larry breathes a sigh of relief.
Wings are due for a lucky bounce, after the deflection off of Ericsson just now and the one yesterday.
