Pregame: Kings @ Red Wings – 10/31

The Red Wings host the Stanley Cup Champion Los Angeles Kings tonight.

The Wings remain without Johan Franzen, who’s expected to return from injured reserve on Sunday against the Buffalo Sabres. There’s a spot on the roster for him as Detroit placed Stephen Weiss on IR today after he was injured in Grand Rapids during his rehab stint with the Griffins on Wednesday.

With Franzen still out, Detroit’s lineup will stay untouched from Wednesday’s 4-2 win in Washington.

Stupid stat of the day: The only team Detroit has ever hosted at Joe Louis Arena on Halloween is the Los Angeles Kings.
