This is another one of those games where I would forgo the formal recap and break out the “they didn’t give any effort so neither will I” excuse but since I did that for the last time, I won’t make it two in a row.
Simply put, there was no point tonight where it felt like the Red Wings were threatening the Flames with consistent pressure. There were a couple quick plays where the Wings had good chances (Datsyuk’s chances off the posts, Franzen’s goal) but nothing that was consistent.
And come on, down by two facing an untested goalie in the third and you can only manage six shots?
I’m sure they’ll be ready for St. Louis on Thursday, though.
