The Detroit Red Wings announced their third move of a suddenly-busy Sunday, signing forward Jordin Tootoo to a three-year deal. The contract reportedly carries a cap hit of $1.9 million.
Tootoo scored six goals and added 24 assists in a grinding role for the Nashville Predators last season. In eight seasons with the Predators he has 46 goals and 79 assists.
A native of Churchill, Manitoba, Tootoo was the first Nunavut-raised player to appear in an NHL game.
