The Detroit Red Wings announced on Sunday the signing of forward Mikael Samuelsson to a two-year contract. Financial terms were not announced but Samuelsson will reportedly earn $3 million per season and have a no-trade clause.
Samuelsson previously spent four season with the Red Wings before signing with the Vancouver Canucks in 2009. He was traded by Vancouver to the Florida Panthers last October.
A power play specialist, Samuelsson has scored 148 goals and 194 assists in 669 career games.
