The Red Wings return home from their West Cost road trip down another man, as Darren Helm will miss four to six weeks with a second-degree MCL sprain. Gustav Nyquist is back up from Grand Rapids to replace him in the lineup tonight as the Wings host the Washington Capitals.
Nicklas Lidstrom practiced this morning but will not play tonight, still recovering from the deep bone bruise in his ankle. Johan Franzen and Joey MacDonald remain out, as do Patrick Eaves, Jonathan Ericsson, and Jakub Kindl.
As per Ansar Khan, the Wings will roll the following lines against the Caps:
Caps making it look like the 80s again, with their alt jerseys.

Yep, this is the start we should expect from the Wings now it seems
Clark RasmussenMarch 19, 2012 11:54 AM
And we get buttf*cked by another missed call in front of the net!
SYfanSDMarch 20, 2012 1:16 AM
Life? That might be enough life to keep me interested for the rest of this one.
Clark RasmussenMarch 20, 2012 1:27 AM
Let’s get at least one more…
SYfanSDMarch 20, 2012 1:39 AM
I still say the refs are suspect.
SYfanSDMarch 20, 2012 1:45 AM
Is this pee wee?
SYfanSDMarch 20, 2012 1:46 AM
Your not waiving it off either!
SYfanSDMarch 20, 2012 1:48 AM
Babs mixing up the lines… I like it although this should be a tie game.
SYfanSDMarch 20, 2012 1:51 AM
I like that camera angle, is it new?
SYfanSDMarch 20, 2012 1:54 AM
Now we get the PP!!!

I’m going to stand by the following Twitter exchange from early in the first period:

Imagine the Aucoin Quincey Trip goal is the game-winner and hate me for asking you to.

Hell no, that’s the only appropriate way for this to end. Wings battle back just enough for that to matter
This “fight back in the third period after an awful first forty minutes” joke has got to stop. The Wings deserved to lose on a goal that should in no way have counted because it emphasizes the fact that they didn’t do enough to win. They haven’t for awhile now, so I’m not going to be mad about the outcome, just about the fact that they can’t seem to put together a full game.
Clark RasmussenMarch 20, 2012 2:12 AM
Picking up where they left off last time they played the Caps.
Clark RasmussenMarch 20, 2012 12:00 PM
Heh, holy hell, this game is a goddamned mess.

We have two periods to get them back… Go boys… Let’s do this!
