Checking in from Florida’s Space Coast to kick off tonight’s game thread. I won’t be catching this one or any of the California games over the next few days.
The Red Wings visit the San Jose Sharks, anxious to bounce back from their weak effort in St. Louis on Tuesday night. The Sharks are looking for a similar rebound after dropping a 3-0 decision to the Phoenix Coyotes last weekend.
With his five-game NHL suspension over, Brendan Smith jumps into the Detroit lineup tonight, replacing Mike Commodore on the blue line. He practiced with Niklas Kronwall for five-on-five shifts and Nicklas Lidstrom on the power play.
Fabian Brunnstrom remains the healthy scratch up front. Ian White is at least a week away from returning from his fractured cheekbone, Todd Bertuzzi is still suffering from a sinus infection, and Jan Mursak hopes to be able to play by Christmas.
Game time is 10:30 PM. FSD has the TV.

Wish the team would make an announcement to warn us if they don’t much feel like playing tonight…the game is on too late to stay awake for a “sleeper”….

At first I was upset that I missed the last game however, now that I have had a chance to catch up, I’m glad I did. I just want a well played game…. Is that too much to ask?

On my way to posting about how awesome it was that the Wings actually capitalized on a powerplay the Sharks scored. Feeling unlucky tonight, see you guys later
