Red Wings – Blues Postgame Thoughts

381

I had to leave during the first period when the Red Wings were up 1-0. Came back near the end of the game. Immediately deleted it off the DVR.

I don’t need to know what happened and I don’t want to know. The 10-3 final score is enough.

The Red Wings, however, don’t have the luxury of ignoring it that I do. That kind of loss to a St. Louis team that’s already been eliminated from the playoffs is unacceptable, especially with five games remaining in the season. The team has to look at this game, figure out what went wrong, and fix it.

That kind of score doesn’t come from not getting the bounces. It comes from systemic failure. Things happened that shouldn’t have happened. If they don’t treat this loss at the end of March as a learning experience, they won’t be playing at the end of April.
