Lidstrom Named All-Star Captain

Detroit Red Wings defenseman Nicklas Lidstrom was announced Tuesday as one of two captains for this season’s NHL All-Star Game.

Lidstrom joins Eric Staal of the host Carolina Hurricanes, having been selected via a vote of the 42 All-Stars who will appear at the January 30th game.

On Friday, January 28, Lidstrom and Staal will select their teammates via a live, televised draft.
