Drew Miller has agreed to a one-year contract with the Detroit Red Wings, the team announced today.
Financial terms of the deal were not announced but Miller will reportedly earn $650,000.
The signing comes at a time when the futures of several of Detroit’s restricted free agents are in doubt, with the Red Wings courting free agent forward Mike Modano. If Modano were to sign with the Wings, Miller could waived as a casualty of the salary cap and roster limits.
Miller, a product of Michigan State University, scored 10 goals and nine assists last season for Detroit after being claimed on waivers from the Tampa Bay Lightning.
