Well, I didn’t get to see the game, but I just got back from the Toledo Walleye game and at least the Wings aren’t that bad!

The Wings look like they’re trying to find new and exciting ways to not score goals. Half a billion shots, none of which count. Ignoring, of course, the two goals that I thought should have counted but didn’t.

It occurs to me that the other teams are getting goals with way too little effort while the Wings are not getting goals at all….There must be a good reason for this. They’re getting the shots (although too many of them are directly at the goalie or they are deflected and blocked). I cannot imagine how frustrated they must be…just gotta shake it off and keep working. There are NO GOOD referees. Sorry.

GM needed to make a deal after kronwall went down. Drew Miller and Bertuzzi aren’t the answer. Its difficult for me to admit that the wings are a average team at best, better yet sub par. Even with a healthy team Wings are average after losing Hossa, Samuelsson, and Hudler with very little replacement attempt. Rolling three grind lines.
One positive of all this losing at the time is the wings aren’t getting blown out, opponent scoring is very low but wings scoring is even lower.
Not much excitement in Detroit Pro sports or Michigan collegiate sports except maybe for Central Michigan football at this point in time.

I get the game on late and the Wings are already losing. Fantastic.

I just realized I’ve never seen that rule to call off a goal scored against Detroit.

Just couldn’t pick up that bouncing puck. f*ck.

Drew Miller and Bertuzzi might not be the answer but what could Holland do? Every time someone else goes down, other GMs are giving him a call saying “Hey, we’ll give you Michael Nylander for the low, low price of Valtteri Filppula and a first-round pick.”
The Wings aren’t dealing from a position of strength. If you’re gonna blame Holland for anything it’s for signing Williams and Bertuzzi in the first place while missing out on Prospal and Afinogenov. Though in all honesty Williams was playing better than I expected before he went down and I still say Bertuzzi is a pleasant surprise, though I wish he’s score some damned goals.
