Red Wings – Avalanche Pregame Notes

363

The Red Wings look to snap their streak of losses in the second of back-to-back games tonight as they visit the Colorado Avalanche one night after defeating the St. Louis Blues.

Detroit is 5-5-1 on the back half of games on consecutive nights this season. All eleven of those games were played on the road.

Ty Conklin gets the start with Chris Osgood having gone last night. The only other change for the Wings is defenseman Derek Meech’s return to the forward ranks to fill the spot opened by Marian Hossa’s injury.

The Avalanche will play their first game without Jordan Leopold, having dealt him to Calgary at today’s trade deadline. He was the only player either team cut loose today.
