More Slump Notes

Nope. No analysis from me this time.

The way I see it, the Wings five-game losing streak has had three kinds of games. Against the Kings and Maple Leafs, Detroit just played like crap. Against Anaheim they were robbed of what should have been the tying goal. Then against the Predators and Blue Jackets, they just didn’t play defense.

I had predicted an end to the streak tonight. Obviously I was wrong. No more predictions from me.

I’m still not worried about this slump. I’ll worry after the Colorado game on Monday.

A few requisite thoughts on the game itself…

The first Columbus goal should have been goalie interference, Modin had his stick on Osgood (not that I think Osgood would have gotten it anyway). Similarly, the Maltby goalie interference call later was surprising.

The Wings play better in front of Howard than Osgood right now, I might start him in Dallas if I were Mike Babcock.
