  • Getting cocky? :cursing:

I’d like to think the same thing but I don’t dare say it. The Avs have done too much damage in the past.

    Hahaha, bravo Clark. :D

  • Downey and Ellis are the odd-men-out tonight, with Maltby and Holmstrom back in the lineup. MacLeod says that Holmstrom will play with Datsyuk and Maltby with Draper. Cleary drops to Zetterberg’s line with Samuelsson playing alongside Franzen. Kopecky is on Franzen’s other wing.

  • That’s depressing, I think they should send Maltby down. ):

Oh well, the new year is for fresh starts and let’s all wish Homer good health for that knee!

  • With the injury situtation in Colorado I doubt they can hold up at the Joe.

  • Quick first period. Both teams doing a good job of keeping the puck to the outside in the defensive zone.

  • Smart play by Holmstrom to get the puck over to Datsyuk. I’m not convinced he wasn’t trying to put it in himself but he kept the puck moving.

    Awesome play by Homer. :cursing:

I love those two, they are so amazing <|3

  • What a beautiful 2 on 1 scoring opportunity for SAMUELSON. What was even more satisfying was his effort after the play, back-checking, to prevent a Colorado rush.

  • And Theodore stones SAMUELSON AGAIN! Some great two way hockey tonight.

  • Darn Good Game all the way around. Very pleasing to see the WINGS hold on to a 1-0 lead, despite a strong effort at the end by the AVs. I don’t recall the WINGS being able to hang on to close games in this dramatic a fashion like they have a few times already this year, in the recent past few years. This proves to me that the WINGS line-up, their work ethic, and attitude toward winning is much improved this season.

  • I was a little worried at the end until the Wings dominated from about 3:00 left to 1:00 left.

Hasek gets his second shutout in a row, and he’s playing really solid. They’ll need that in the playoffs.

  • Not sure if they are making a big deal of it in your necks of the woods…but TSN just ran a story that tonight Chelios will become the second oldest player to lace’em up, passing the Chicago Black Hawks assistant trainer Moe Roberts who was called into emergency service in the nets in the 50s.

Only 7 years to catch Mr. Hockey Chelli!

  • I read something about that the other day. Haven’t been watching pregame (Versus won’t tell me anything I don’t know) so for all I know they have been.

Apparently people already thought he was the second-oldest player.

  • One solid shift for each team so far. Not bad.
