It’s hard to imagine how a team that looks so confident, so capable, when it lines up against every other team can empty its pockets and fork over its lunch money as soon as it sees that famous winged wheel crest. No club is more spooked by the Wings’ aura than the Stars, and no player pulls the sheets up over his head faster than Turco, whose career mark against Detroit stands at 1-10-5 after the latest de-pantsing.
I’ll miss the game live thanks to some home improvement projects. This is why I dislike afternoon games. At night I can sit around and watch hockey, in the afternoon I have stuff to do.

Hope you’re building a bar in your basement? with Red Wing Logo illuminating the drinking surfaces? Haha.
As much as I would love to build some bad-ass place to entertain in the basement, that’s not up. A new kitchen sink. Which will probably go badly and lead to new countertops and new cabinets, ’cause that’s how things work around here, but we’ll see.
Agreed about no need to rest on any laurels, though. The Stars always scare me, they play a tough game and a lot of Detroit’s wins against them could have gone the other way.

I think their only win against us last year came during a shootout in Dallas. However, without Zubov they are in the hurt locker.
Hope your home improvement projects go well. I feel your pain, my house works the same way

True that the DALLAS STARS and TURCO in particular seem afflicted by something akin to the curse of the bambino (where did that come from… hahaha) ….. however, I tend to respect the STARS, a bit more than that, and don’t see a valid reason to rest on any laurels. I’ve seen things change too much and in very strange ways. It can and will get ugly if you let it.

Mike Smith get’s the start in goal for Dallas, Zubov is in but not sure how he will hold up. Looks like they have switched up their lines in an attempt to produce some offense.
Rafalski!!!!!!!

Homer expects to get back on Sunday, Maltby on Tuesday.
Hasek gets the start in Dallas, the rotation continues rather than going with the hot hand.
The Dallas media seems to be doom-and-gloom. Fine by me. They may or may not get Zubov back.

Good first period! We outshot the Stars 7-2, BS call on Drake for the interference.

Lilja has started to play like the big man that he is, nice open ice hit there. And another BS penalty called, this time is on Lidstrom for tripping.

Will be interesting to see how we do down there, any word on Homer and Malts?

Odd case where that was really a solid game by both teams. Dallas played much harder than earlier this week. Take away the ENG and the one Smith should have had from Cleary and it’s only a one-goal game. Take those away and the Wings would have won anyway, so I’m happy with it.

SI calls the game a must-win for Dallas…
