Wow! Some scrappy, and as Mickey commented, “old time” hockey going on here early in the first period.
Ozzie is coming up BIG ….. and Kronner is acting like Chelly in his younger days (going after the big hit) …..
but the pucks have not found their way into the back of the net as yet.

You had to say something, huh?
If I was a Blues fan, I’d have been p*ssed if that was called back.
Clark RasmussenDecember 21, 2007 1:54 AM
So far, the most physical play I’ve seen in awhile. The BLUES are definitely giving the WINGS a show.
skyguy52December 21, 2007 2:07 AM
8D YAY!
Someone scored.
I thought it was Drake but my mom said it was Filppula. So, who was it?
AND WOO, SAMUELSSON DOES SOMETHING GOOD
Mathieu_Datsyuk132351December 21, 2007 2:54 AM
Wow — two nice passes that lead to goals!
Nick’s pass was picture perfect right on the tape of Samuelson for the 2nd goal

The first one (to tie it up) was DRAKE to FILPPULA …
Fitting that DRAKE set it up too!
skyguy52December 21, 2007 2:57 AM
Very fitting that Drake gets in on the scoring. Good to see the Wings getting back in the lead, St. Louis has a tendency to play the Wings tough and it’s always easier from out in front.
Clark RasmussenDecember 21, 2007 3:04 AM
Wow, Drake and Mayers. Interesting. Not the best fight, Drake probably wishes he didn’t have the visor.
Clark RasmussenDecember 21, 2007 3:45 AM
Old Time Hockey!
SYfanSDDecember 21, 2007 3:47 AM
Is it me or is Dats all over the place?
SYfanSDDecember 21, 2007 3:48 AM
Weak call there
SYfanSDDecember 21, 2007 3:50 AM
Bah, weak interference call, they let worse than that go at the start of the game. I hate inconsistency.
Clark RasmussenDecember 21, 2007 3:50 AM
Here we go again! Can we get some refs that are consistant?
SYfanSDDecember 21, 2007 3:51 AM
This one is shaping up to be more like a contest between the likes of the Motown Bullies vs. the Blues Bruisers …
skyguy52December 21, 2007 3:52 AM
Is it me or is Dats all over the place?
PAVs has been ALL over the place. He’s been quite physical as well, both giving and receiving.
PAVs has been an equal opportunity one man wrecking crew.
skyguy52December 21, 2007 3:53 AM
If Backes was Holmstrom, this game would still be tied.

In other words… A one man force multiplier!

Jackman is such a badass. Shoving with Datsyuk and Samuelsson tonight. What, Hudler wasn’t available?
Clark RasmussenDecember 21, 2007 4:01 AM
He’s an idiot!
SYfanSDDecember 21, 2007 4:06 AM
DAMNIT!
SYfanSDDecember 21, 2007 4:07 AM
The ref was looking right at Franzen when he got dumped. Nice.
Clark RasmussenDecember 21, 2007 4:08 AM
Once again the refs manage to screw up!
SYfanSDDecember 21, 2007 4:09 AM
There is almost a playoff feel to this game…
SYfanSDDecember 21, 2007 4:10 AM
Oh well, we had to lose one eventually
SYfanSDDecember 21, 2007 4:11 AM
This one was a deceivingly well played and hard played contest.
It is also a good reality check for the WINGS. The BLUES decided to play physical. The WINGS responded physically.
Good game all the way around.

As MICKEY commented, the fact that FRANZEN was dumped the way he was, and he was DUMPED, isn’t THE issue as much as the other garbage that is called. If they are calling the other garbage and then completely IGNORE the DUMP on FRANZEN, that is what is hurting the NEW NHL.

Agreed. All I want is consistency.

Babcock called out the last St. Louis goal as B.S. in the post-game interview. Nice.
Clark RasmussenDecember 21, 2007 4:28 AM
Late start tonight means I got my soccer game out of the way early and won’t miss anything.
Roster moves: Draper stays in, Downey stays scratched, Maltby’s still hurt, Osgood gets the start, and Chelios hates being rested (which means Meech is in).
Cheli hates the rest… Imagine that
