Both teams will be going with their backups in net tonight. Chris Osgood gets the start for the Red Wings after Dominik Hasek went last night. Dan Ellis will go for Nashville with Chris Mason out with the flu.
I’ll miss the first period live but will rejoin this thread once I’ve caught up.

So, Osgood is still considered backup goalie? Hmm.
Oh well, as long as the Wings win I guess it doesn’t matter much.

Okay, I’m caught up.
Wow.
Some of the Wings kids are on fire. Kopecky, Filppula, Hudler and Kronwall are playing with some real confidence.
And I still want to see someone beat the hell out of Tootoo.

Notewothy is DETROIT SOG end of first is 17 Vs 9 for Nashville. Puck control is Key. Many teams don’t get 17 SOG for the entire game against the WINGS.

I knew there was another reason I loved Valtteri Filppula

Great Penalty Killing by the WINGS. OZZIE is playing with confidence, & positioning well to shooters.
skyguy52December 11, 2007 2:19 AM
There is definately something wrong with the calls tonight. Lots of crap calls!
Of note: The last four games I have watched Detroit has had at least three to four shots on goal in the first minute of play
SYfanSDDecember 11, 2007 2:32 AM
WTF? Legwand was in the damn crease!
Clark RasmussenDecember 11, 2007 2:34 AM
That sucks! Shorthanded goal
SYfanSDDecember 11, 2007 2:35 AM
Bad break for the WINGS (Ozzie in particular), but the PREDS deserved the SH goal! That was not an easy goal.
Looks like we may be in for an interesting 3rd Period. Overall the WINGS are holding up well for having played last nite in a hard fought game at the JLA, and on-the-road tonight for a quick turnaround .
skyguy52December 11, 2007 2:40 AM
Looking forward to the third. Hopefully the stupid ass calls will stop

Entertaining game all and all
Mathieu_Datsyuk132351December 11, 2007 3:31 AM
Nashville could have won this one, Wings did a good job of holding on at the end and Osgood was big again. Expected to get tired at the end, playing last night.
Clark RasmussenDecember 11, 2007 3:32 AM
Post-game, Mickey York just called Osgood the last Red Wings goalie to play in the All-Star game. I may be wearing his jersey from that game right now, but I know that’s wrong. Osgood went to the 1996 game but Hasek went to Los Angeles for the ASG in 2002.

Yeah, I don’t think I can call him the starter since Dom’s back to playing well and the Wings never stopped calling Hasek the starter.
