  • Starting this early since there’s already news coming out about the game. Kulfan at the DetNews reports that Osgood will start…

Kind of weird with Hasek coming off the shutout but Osgood’s been solid against Nashville all season, including the road win in the recent home-and-home, so it’s kind of hard to disagree.

  • No Lebda tonight, and Zetterberg is still doubtful for the start of the playoffs.

  • What, no Zetts for the start of the playoffs? What happened to him? I mean, he is out after a game and is gone for 3 months. Has anyone heard anything about him possible being injured with a broken hand or foot?

Wow, that is really shocking news!

Someone mentioned that Detroit could enter the Playoffs as an underdog. Yeah, I totally dig the thought of being 4th and getting the ghosts out of the closet in the first round. Because Detroit needs to get past the first round and second round for this team to even begin to feel confident about the team at this point. I’m sure Babcock is feeling the sting of quiet eyes from the owner.

Tough and Gritty is all I can say……Tough and Gritty! :flagusa: If you got it, you got it!

    Go Wings!

  • Zetterberg’s been out with a back injury for a month. The Wings have never stated the severity of the injury. He’s started skating with the team again but that’s all.

  • The Wings have to be very cautious with both Lebda and Zetterman. The fact that Zetts may not be ready for the start of the playoffs is not as serious as it sounds. I’d rather have him back healthy, after the start, than have him back before he’s ready, and have him subject to a re-injury. The Wings have to realize they are going to have win WITHOUT key players for awhile, if they are to have any chance to get out of the first and second rounds. Tonight against the Predators will, in all likihood determine Detroit’s standing for the first round. Who cares at this point if they meet Calgary or San Jose or Dallas in the first round? A win for the WINGS tonight, however, will be huge for their morale. :flagusa:

  • Solid second period. A little less flow but the Wings still get the goal. Bertuzzi with his first two points, lets see if they’ll hold up.

  • Who knew that a goalie hooking you and you dragging him out of the crease was goalie interference? Johan Franzen does now.

  • :woot:

Osgood stands strong in the craziness to close out the third. Two big points to tie Nashville for the Central Division and Western Conference lead.

  • IIRC, the Predators are the league’s best team in the first period. Good to get past the first 20 minutes with a tie.

Great goal by Franzen to knot things up, good passing to get it to him in the first place.

I get the feeling that this is going to be one of those games where the Wings play “undisciplined” hockey while the opponent never commits a penalty. We’ll see how that plays out.

Great flow, for the most part. Wings controlled the first 5 minutes or so, then Nashvill got the power play and took over. Big stops on both sides. Osgood continues to prove he’s more than a backup. Hypothetical… The Wings meet the Preds in the playoffs, do you start Hasek or Osgood?
