Am I being unduly critical of Tomas, but is he just plain clumsy in front of the opposing net? He seems either slightly out of position or off balance more times than not. I realize its a busy place to be and the opposing D is physical with him, but I don’t understand why he can’t get in better position. Any comments?

2nd period — Shawn Bates, NYI — short handed goal! Wings not in sync tonight. NYI aggressive play.

It’s one of those “you win some, you lose some” things. Shot from the point bounces off him: bad positioning. Shot from the point just misses him and hits the back of the net: great screen.
I don’t know what I’m more worried about tonight, the Wings’ defense completely falling to sh*t or their offense’s inability to get going. They look like they didn’t actually make the trip out.

Like on Kronner’s goal, Holmstrom is in front and it’s a good screen. Had he been a few inches over, it’s another blocked shot.
Glad to see the Wings’ streak continue, lets see if they can make their winning streak extend, too.
And Cleary pulls the Wings within one!
It’s tied up!
Lidstrom with the PPG and another great screen by Homer.

Holy hell, Zetterberg wins it! What a move by Lidstrom to keep control and make the pass.

The more I watch the game-winner, the more it looks like Lidstrom closed his hand on the puck making that sweet move. Combined with the ridiculous number of power plays Detroit got (seven to the Fishsticks’ two), it takes a little bit off the win.
But in the end, I’m not complaining. Colorado downed Nashville tonight so those are two important points, putting the Wings five points back of the Preds.

Agree to all. Homer redeemed himself tonight! You’re right about it being a matter of inches — an inch or two either way — makes a difference. Yeah I thought the Nick may have closed his hand on that one — another game, another ref and who knows. I’ll take it this time. Go WINGS …………
Even though Nick’s hand play may have been a “freeby” his pass to Zetterberg was Tremendous! Did you see DiPietro afterwards ………?? Great PLAY.
Come to think of it, Hank’s game winner, was much like Guerin’s goal the other night against Ozzie. Lidstrom’s pass was better though as it was made in a way that really beat DiPietro for position.
