The Detroit Red Wings scored twice in the third period Wednesday night to come from behind and earn a 2-1 victory over the San Jose Sharks.

Detroit’s win snapped a three-game losing streak.

Robert Lang scored the game-winner for the Red Wings with 8:52 remaining in the game, deflecting a shot from the point by Mathieu Schneider over the shoulder of San Jose goalie Evgeni Nabokov.

Schneider had tied the game on a Detroit power play just 38 seconds into the period, puting a shot from the point past Nabokov.

San Jose’s lone goal came off the stick of Steve Bernier with the Sharks on the power play and 2:50 remaining in the first period.

The fast-paced game saw only six penalties, with Detroit going 1-for-2 and San Jose going 1-for-4 on the power play.

Nabokov finished the game with 37 saves on 39 shots while Red Wings’ goalie Dominik Hasek stopped 22 of 23 shots against.

The Red Wings will head back out on the road on Friday when they visit the Dallas Stars.
