Czechs Select Lang for Olympics

Detroit Red Wings center Robert Lang will make his fourth career Olympic appearance in February, as he was announced as a member of the Czech Republic’s men’s ice hockey team for the games in Turino, Italy.

The Czech roster also includes former Red Wing goaltender Dominik Hasek, now a member of the Ottawa Senators.

Defenseman Jiri Fischer, who was expected to be named to the team before suffering convulsions on November 21, was not on the final roster.

The four players from the New York Rangers are the most sent by one NHL team to the Czech squad.
