The game as a whole seemed a lot better for everyone. Both teams and the fans seemed more awake than in Game One. I’m sure Kiprusoff didn’t think it was better, but I’d say that probably at least 3 of those 5 goals were goals he couldn’t have done anything about.
I was surprised Iginla went after Hatcher– I mean, I know Iggy has something of a temper, but I’ve only seen him use it when he’s got a teammate being picked on or attacked. I also thought he’d be more likely to go after Draper or Maltby than anyone, since one of them is right with him at all times. Guess it means Hatch is doing his job, if he got Iggy irritated enough to risk the visor/instigator/suspension difficulty. (I think they may have struck that rule out, since so many players are wearing visors now.)

Wow, that was a strange finish to Game Two. I’m not sure when the last time I saw a fight in the playoffs was, and we had two of them this afternoon. Iggy was clearly trying to provide an example for his team, but IMO it was a stupid move. I think there’s a rule that says a player who instigates a fight while wearing a visor gets suspended or something. If there is, it was a risky thing to do. Not that I think he’ll be suspended (Yeah, the NHL actually enforce a rule that would see a budding superstar and the only hope for a poor Canadian team be suspended in a crucial playoff game?).
