Detroit Red Wings goaltender Manny Legace is not expected to miss a game after a puck hit his mask during practice Friday. Legace is scheduled to start Game Two of the Red Wings’ first round series with the Nashville Predators Saturday afternoon.
Detroit head coach Dave Lewis announced that – simply as a precaution – Legace would undergo a physical evaluation but the results might not be available before the game.
Legace has become Detroit’s starting goalie after Dominik Hasek was forced to quit the season with a groin injury and Curtis Joseph suffered an ankle injury late in the regular season schedule.
