“Remember that part in Scanners where that guy’s head explodes?”(Wayne’s World/circa 1992) Kinda how I feel watching the Wings lately. You know they can play great offense and defense, but are having trouble doing it in one game. They look a little confused. Probably just a transitory thingy, getting used to a new system and all. Yeah, thats it, a little too early to peak. I think I’ll graft that 3 inches from Fischer’s stick, onto Draper’s. Help him on those breakaways.

Fischer hasn’t killed anyone with that stick yet this year, let him keep it, he’ll need it if he ever starts using that wicked shot of his. Early in last night’s game I was saying that Fedorov needed to give Draper so breakaway lessons, but after Feds failed to score a couple times (plus overtime the game before), I think he might need some training himself.
I’m not worrying now though, I’ll worry when their down in the third period facing elimination in the playoffs.

Well, early last season, if you recall, they looked pretty confused too. It seems like they *just barely* won a lot of the games then. Now, they are just barely losing them instead, without a whole heck of a lot of difference in the way they’re playing. It’s a fine team, and the rookies are all pretty bright, so they’ll all catch on. I felt bad for Legace last night, though- HE was playing like a winning goaltender, even though the rest of the team couldn’t score any goals for him!
