The Eric Lindros drama is finally over.
Lindros, the oft-concussed former Philadelphia Flyer, was traded today to the New York Rangers in return for Kim Johnsson, Jan Hlavac, Pavel Brendl and a third-round draft pick.
Lindros hasn’t played since suffering a concussion after being hit by the New Jersey Devils’ Scott Stevens in Game 7 of the 2000 Eastern Conference Finals. The concussion was his sixth, and the fifth in a two-year stretch.
Lindros sat out last year after demanding a trade to his hometown of Toronto. Near the trade deadline he added Detroit, St. Louis and Washington to his list. This summer, the Rangers were added as well.
